Find Used Ford Cars in Utah
Ford Motor Company has been
selling mass-produced vehicles in the United
States for more than one hundred years. Ford
is one of the top automobile companies in
the U.S., and offers a very wide range of
body types, style, and size of vehicles. The
company started up in 1903, and was founded
by Henry Ford.
A big reason for the
company’s success is that they build cars
for the common population. The Model A
started things up, and possibly the best
known antique, the Model T was sold between
1908 and 1927. 16.5 million Americans bought
this vehicle during its 20-year lifespan.
Ford also pioneered the moving assembly
line, and this created a much more
cost-effective method of production. Ford
entered the luxury market with the purchase
of Lincoln Motor Company in 1925. They also
created the Mercury division to produce mid
priced cars. After the war, the famous
Thunderbird was introduced. In the 1960’s
the compact Falcon was produced, and was a
moderate success. By the middle of the
decade Ford scored a place in automotive
history with the Ford Mustang, a car that
went on to become one of the biggest sellers
of its day. The Mustang had a low price,
available powerful V8 engines and sleek
styling. Like most others in the industry,
the 1970’s were a difficult time with the
fuel crisis, changing tastes in style and
new regulations. In 1979, the company
rebounded with a stake in Mazda. The Escort
and Taurus models were popular vehicles in
the ‘80s and during this same time Ford
purchased Jaguar and Aston Martin. Volvo’s
car division and Land Rover became
additional parts of the company in the ‘90s.
Although Ford created a mainstay SUV, the
Explorer, increased competition made things
difficult for them by the millennium. The
brand since has sold off Aston Martin,
Jaguar and Land Rover.
Utah Used
Ford Cars
Ford has attracted millions of loyal
customers with a wide range of products that offer
considerable value for the money. The used trucks
and SUVs have been the most popular. Ford continues
to manufacture both cars and trucks, and has added
several hybrids to the list.
Ford Explorer is the best selling SUV
of all time. Ford sells more than 400,000 Explorers
a year. If searching for a used car, you will
encounter Ford Explorers every where, in many trims,
colors, model years, and options. This SUV, while
decently capable off road and towing, is meant for
an every day vehicle. Many people use this as a work
‘truck’ or a family car. The used Explorer is roomy
and comfortable. There is an optional third row seat
version, and this can seat seven, otherwise, it
seats five.
There are V6 and V8 engines in the
used car market. The V6 is plenty for an every day
driver. The Ford Explorer is smooth and stable on
the highway and handles well on winding roads. There
are many trims, and Ford’s AdvanceTrac electronic
stability system is available for all XLT, Eddie
Bauer, and Limited models. The 2002 Explorer was
completely redesigned and engineered with a more
stable stance and
independent rear suspension, which offers better
handling. The Explorer is a great value for those
looking for a used SUV, and it retails between $3975
and $14,203, depending on trim and options.
