About Used Chevy Malibu Cars in
Utah
The Chevrolet Malibu is a
comfortable, quiet, practical, and affordable mid
sized sedan. This used car has room for five
passengers and is in the same ranks as the Ford
Taurus, Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. And, though
it is not the best selling sedan, it certainly holds
its place in the standings. The Malibu has a fuel
economy of 29 mpg on the highway, and 20 mpg in the
City. A V6, 3.1 liter engine will be found on all
Malibu's. The 2001 model got an updated look, with
black molded outside mirrors, black rocker moldings
and black mudguards (on some vehicles). 2001 also
introduced some new colors: maroon metallic, galaxy
silver metallic and light driftwood metallic. The
Malibu was made in two trim lines, the base and the
LS. The base model comes with a suitable amount of
equipment features: air conditioning, anti-lock
brakes, 4-speed automatic transmission, rear-seat
child security locks, battery rundown protection,
AM/FM stereo, tilt steering column and tachometer.
Power door locks and electric rear defogger. The LS
is improved with its interior: power windows with
driver's side Express-Down feature, dual remote
electric outside rear view mirrors, cruise control,
6-way power driver's seat, remote keyless entry, and
custom cloth bucket seats. This is some decent
equipment for a used car from 2001. The Malibu's
ignition switch is located on the instrument panel;
it's plainly visible and reachable, instead of being
hidden at the base of the steering wheel as it is on
most cars. Another plus is rotating air vents at the
base of the A-pillars that can be swiveled outward
to defrost the side window, allowing maximum
visibility of the outside mirrors. The head room and
leg room in the Malibu are vast, and will work with
any size driver. The stereo system is higher on the
dash than on many cars, making it more easily
operable. The improvements continue: separate steel
subframes for the front and rear ends protect the
cabin and its inhabitants from engine vibration and
from harsh bumps, and noise levels were reduced with
recessed door handles, and a special windshield
seal. The suspension was also changed for the 2001
model year. The Malibu handles much better and can
deal with crisp turns, including tight corners and
quick lane changes. This used car cruises on the
highway and maneuvers swiftly through city streets.
The Chevrolet Malibu was originally launched to
compete with the mid-size imports from Japan. This
used car offers great road manners, construction,
and practicality all within a stylish body. The
Malibu is a V-6, with excellent acceleration and
performance. There is a smooth, comfortable ride
within the car, but it can still be fun and
adventurous on the open road. This car has proven
its reliability time and time again, it is a true
bargain. If potential used car buyers are searching
for a mid sized sedan, it is worth checking out a
Malibu that is of or newer than the 2001 model year.
This vehicle keeps getting better, and is making a
stance with its competition.
