Find Used Mazda Cars in Utah

Mazda was founded in 1920 and now sells used cars and trucks in more than 120 countries. In 1970 Mazda entered the U.S. market, and more than one-third of Mazda vehicles sold in the U.S. are produced there. The company founder Jujiro Matsuda chose the word "Mazda" because it was the name of the Zoroastrian god of good and light. Original development of the Mazda was halted so the company could pitch in with Japan's war effort. By 1960, the first Mazda car was developed, and the company's expansion into passenger vehicles began. Mazda has distinguishing itself as the only manufacturer to offer three engine configurations: conventional gasoline piston, diesel and rotary. The first Mazda pickup truck was introduced in the '60s. In 1979, the Ford Motor Company purchased a 25 percent stake in Mazda after the Japanese company encountered financial difficulties. In the 1980s, Mazda blossomed, as it achieved an upswing in sales sparked by successful new products like the 323 and 626. The 1990 MX-5 was also a huge hit, as it came with responsive handling and affordability, and it now holds the title of being the world's best-selling roadster. However, in the 1990s the company's vehicles experienced declining sales in the U.S., and the company's finances suffered as a result. Since 2000, the Mazda name has wisely invested in new development, with very impressive and satisfying results. A very important move is that the company's customer base has been broadened with new models and the enthusiast-oriented RX-8 and Mazdaspeed performance models have perfected the company's advertising philosophy: "Zoom-Zoom".

Utah Used Mazda Cars

Mazda is responsible for producing the world's only rotary-engine sports car in 2003: the RX-8. This is very desirable and unique used car. While the Ford Motor Company owns about one-third of Mazda, the used cars are very affordable, yet also come along with a thrilling performance. These are not two traits that normally are offered within one vehicle, but Mazda has succeeded to do so.

Mazda is rightly proud about its entry level car, the Mazda3. This used car offers above and beyond the expected in this price class. It comes with a strong engine, transmission, handling, brakes, comfort, packaging and very stylish looks. The Mazda3 replaces the Protege. The used car is available as a four-door sedan or five-door hatchback, and has many improvements over the Protege. There is also an option of five-speed manual and an automatic that has a manual-shift feature. The four-door and five-door models each come with their very own styling. The sedan has a rounded shape and smooth design. The five-door looks has more of an aggressive feel, as it has a more powerful engine. It also has folding rear seats for exta cargo room. The handling is impressive, with quick and responsive movements and great performance with a 2.3-liter engine. The used 2004 Mazda3 has a fuel economy range of 35 mpg Hwy and 28 mpg City. It has an invoice price of $12,795 - $15,988.
