Find Used Cars in South Jordan, Utah

South Jordan is a city in Salt Lake County, Utah. It is part of the Salt Lake City, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 29,437 at the 2000 census, and South Jordan has been one of the fastest-growing cities in Utah since the early 1990s. The city has a total area of 21.0 square miles, of which 0.76% is water. The elevation of South Jordan ranges from approximately 4,300 feet near the Jordan River in the east to about 5,200 ft in the foothills of the Oquirrh Mountains. The first people in the area lived around the edges of Lake Bonneville about 9000 years ago. They were wandering hunter-gatherers who moved through the region staying in caves and rock shelters. The next group who lived in the valley was the northern Fremont people who lived permanently in small settlements. The first Europeans to travel through the area were Spanish soldiers, missionaries, miners, or slave buyers as early as the 1600s. In 1881 there was a diphtheria epidemic to the Salt Lake Valley. Much of the population was lost. Then, in 1847 the Pioneer Company of the Mormons entered the valley and immediately began to explore the area for new settlements. In the 1890s new crops were introduced which changed farming in South Jordan. Alfalfa hay took the place of the tougher native grasses. The first city-wide sewer system was built in 1974. Modern day South Jordan is located in the southwestern portion of the Salt Lake Valley. The city lies between the Oquirrh Mountains, West Jordan, the Jordan River, and Sandy. Rapid residential development in South Jordan and the south side of the valley has spurred economic development in the city.

Information About South Jordan Used Cars: Value

Once you find a used car, it is important to determine its value in the long run. There are many factors that adjust this. You may have purchased a used car with many aftermarket accessories, or you may add them yourself. Keep in mind that the money you spend does not translate dollar for dollar in your used car’s value. This is something used car owners are mistaken about. Some additional accessories are more worthy then others, and it is usually the ones that help keep the used car in better shape (like a truck bed liner) then something like a thousand dollar sound system. Accidents can negatively impact a used cars value, no matter how little the damage is. Color may surprise people as a factor of a used car’s value. A vehicle that is bright yellow may be much more difficult to sell than a more common color; thus lowering it’s value. Used trucks value are affected by their power and diesels often will maintain a higher price, as they are more powerful. If the body style of your used car has been replaced with a new one for this same model, the old version will go down in value. If you are aware the manufacturer is about to release a new style, you may think twice about purchasing the used car. Supply and demand impact the value of a vehicle too. Sometimes, a high-demand used truck might actually cost nearly as much as a new, less desirable truck. Where you live is another factor in the value of a used car; think about living in a snowy, cold climate, a used convertible’s value would automatically be lower then a used 4x4. How long you keep the used car is also a factor, as depreciation percentage changes every year, with the first few years being the highest.
