About Used Toyota Tundra Trucks in
Utah
The Toyota Tundra is officially
classified as a full size pickup, but it is smaller
than others in the class, such as the Nissan Titan,
Ford F-150, Dodge Ram, Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC
Sierra models. This reduced size for a used truck
does have its advantages, such as more agility and
better refinement. This is a quick and responsive
truck, and durability and reliability are well known
Toyota traits. The Tundra is also smooth and quiet
for a truck. The Tundra has a fuel economy range of
19 mpg on the highway and 16 mpg in the city. It has
a base towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. and on some
models go up to 7,100 lbs.
This used truck was produced in a few
different sizes, including a the four-door crew cab
model, called the Double Cab. The truck has a
six-foot bed and comes closer to being a full sized
pickup then the other versions. The Double Cab is
three inches taller, four inches wider, and is built
on a longer chassis than the other Tundra pickups. A
used truck buyer can also find the Tundra in regular
cab, extended cab, and crew cab bodies. A V6 and a
V8 engine were both options when the truck was made.
Other options that may be found when looking for a
used Tundra are a two-door Regular Cab, an extended
Access Cab with auxiliary rear doors, and the Double
Cab. Two- and four-wheel-drive versions also exist.
The three trim levels were called the base, SR5, and
Limited. The exterior design of this truck is
attractive, it has a bold grille opening that
extends down into the bumper. There are
heavy-looking chrome grille bars the slightly remind
one of the 1947 GMC design, a collectors model.
However, when you compare the Tundra to its
competitors it has a rather bland look. The truck
has a combination of a sporty and off road
appearance.
The regular cab beds measure 8 feet,
but with the Access Cab version, it is 6-feet,
3-inches. This used truck bed is shallower than
Ford's beds. The Double Cab's bed is the deepest of
all Tundra's (3.5 inches deeper to be exact). The
Double Cab also offers an inch more front headroom
than the other models and slightly more hip room,
but otherwise offers similar roominess to Regular
Cab and Access Cab models.
The interior of the 2004 Toyota
Tundra is fairly straightforward and the console is
easy to use. A center console with four cup holders,
dual map pockets and covered storage is available on
all models; this console is also used on the Toyota
Sequoia SUV. The truck offers basic safety features:
seatbelt pre-tensioners and force limiters, and dual
front airbags. The passenger-side airbag can be
switched off when babies or children occupy the
front passenger seat. The ride is very impressive,
high quality, and smooth. It feels more like a sedan
than a truck. It is extremely quiet, with very
little wind or road noise in the cabin. The Toyota
Tundra used truck may lack in size, but it is
durable, reliable, smooth, and truly an enjoyable
truck to drive.
